Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input and/or output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer and/or client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgment and formal software process.
Qualifications
You must possess a Bachelor and/or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with six years relevant experience or a Ph.D. with three years of experience.
Additional qualifications include: - Mastery in at least one of the following languages/standards: C and/or C++, Java*, MIT Cilk, OpenMPI, OpenCL - Knowledge of multicore and manycore hardware architectures and well as distributed cluster systems (shared and distributed shared memory systems) - Software development expertise in Windows* and/or Linux* operating systems, Linux kernel internals, Linux kernel drivers and Windows Drivers Foundation (kernel-mode and user-mode drivers) - Hands-on expertise in two or more of the following areas: Message-Passing computing, scientific simulation (biology, astrophysics, chemistry, physics, etc.), business optimization and data mining requiring massive data, digital animation rendering applications, finite element analysis and simulation, Monte Carlo simulations, image processing, graphic applications (using DirectX9-10-11 or Open GL 2.4), etc. - Experience working under Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and/or ISO software quality regime is a strong requirement - Strong analytical and practical skills focused in performance optimization and load balancing - Strong results orientation - Fully bilingual in English (in Spanish and English) - Experience working with Intel tools like: Parallel Studio, Thread Checker, Thread Profiler would be an additional advantage
